Aficionado Property was founded by Matthew Payne, created to help a selection of property businesses who had requested support with a variety of challenges and projects in what has been a testing period for people in the industry in the last few years.  This was quickly forced to evolve as it became clear there was a need to offer that assistance to individual property people as well as businesses, being able to provide insight and perspective afforded from extensive experience of working with and for both.

Matthew worked in the independent and corporate property world for 25 years mainly in London and Dubai, working his way up from trainee estate agent to Managing Director of a multi-million-pound estate agency in London delivering record profits in the years that followed.  Working closely with his teams, clients and customers in sales, lettings, property management, land and new homes afforded him an intimate 360 degree understanding of a transactional residential property business and the people it served.  More recently Matthew was approached to become the VP of UK operations for Damac, the largest privately owned new homes developer in the Middle East, managing and developing their UK sales operation in London and Dubai.

Matthew is also a member of the Association of Business Mentors. By virtue of his experience with mentees at all levels of business over many years, he was invited in 2022 to complete the ILM Level 7 Diploma in Executive Coaching and Mentoring awarded by the City and Guilds of London Institute, recognised as the foremost qualification for professional coaches and mentors.
